A 12-Week Online Program for Adults Returning to the Violin After a Break

Many adults reach a point where they begin thinking about the violin again.

Sometimes the instrument has been sitting in its case for years. Sometimes life became busy with work, family or other priorities. Some people simply miss making music, while others feel they never had the opportunity to discover what they were truly capable of achieving.

Returning as an adult is a unique experience. You already have musical memories, previous lessons and personal goals. You also bring greater maturity, patience and understanding than you had when you first picked up the violin.

This programme provides a structured starting point for adults who want to reconnect with the instrument and develop a more confident, thoughtful and enjoyable approach to playing.

Throughout the programme we focus on rebuilding technical confidence, developing greater awareness of movement, improving sound quality, strengthening listening skills and establishing practice habits that continue to support your progress long after the programme has finished.

Every returning violinist follows a different path. Some students return after only a few years away, while others have not played since childhood. Progress depends on previous experience, regular practice and individual goals. The purpose of this programme is to provide a clear direction, practical guidance and a solid technical framework for continued long-term development.

Who is this programme for?

Adults with previous violin experience who would like to return to playing after a break.

The programme is generally suitable for students working between approximately beginner and Grade 5 standard.
